David also holds a BTEC Level 2 Certificate in First Person On Scene (FPOS) and Zoey has also attained her BTEC Level 3 qualification in both Conflict Management and Personal Intervention/Restraint.

Both Zoey and David hold BTEC Level 4 Certificates in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLs).

what we do

Empty Hands Defence Training has been devised to teach people from young adults upwards, and more importantly, of any ability, the skills necessary to firstly identify a possible threat and therefore negate the need to use force and secondly if needed, how to deal with the threat in the most effective, instinctive manner.

Empty Hands Defence is not in any way ‘Martial Arts’ training, there are no uniforms, grades or coloured belts, you will not be required to undertake any fitness training as the principles are purely instinctive and suitable for all.

Training will also be given on personal and family safety awareness whilst out and about and the training can be tailored to meet the needs and abilities of the individual.

our mission

Our mission is to provide professional instinctive self-defence principles and to provide you with the knowledge and skills to feel confident when being out alone or if you find yourself in an uncomfortable situation. We are devoted to motivating and encouraging you to achieve your own personal goals and we aim to keep our courses competitive and fresh whilst readily accepting feedback from all our clients so that we can constantly improve our training.

Empty Hands Defence promotes both easy to teach and more importantly easy to learn principals to keep you alert, safe and confident that the use of force you may use is both proportionate and more importantly lawful.
